Our Local Hero Winner
There was a great response to this campaign and several nominations were submitted. It was a very close race, but after all the nominations were reviewed and counted, Peter Coughlan was deemed to be the winner. He was presented with his award by the Credit Union’s Chairman, John Buckley.
For those who don’t know him, Peter is widely recognised in the community as someone who is always there to help others, with a permanent smile on his face. One person that nominated Peter mention that “Whenever I see Peter around, I just think WOW, a good man expressing the goodness of his heart to the Community”. Another said that “Peter is so kind, happy and always willing to help”. In addition to the Trojan work he does ensuring the village is kept clean and tidy, he does so much more that people may not know about. He volunteers with Tidy Towns, helps at the local bingo every Wednesday night and is one of the main faces in the “Merries” Pipers Funfair. He looks after elderly friends, neighbours and family by regularly picking up messages for them at the local Centra shop. Peter is part of what makes Crosshaven such a nice place to live and is so well deserving of this Local Hero Award.
Crosshaven Carrigaline Credit Union will present this award again next year, so keep an eye out in 2023 for another opportunity to nominate someone you believe to be YOUR LOCAL HERO.
